Starting Tuesday, September 6!

It's been a great, relaxing summer and now it's time to get back in a flow... a healthy routine. I'm more than ready for it.

As many of you already know, I'm pregnant with baby number two - which has slowed me from running to a brisk walk - but I am still excited about the next eight week session. Even though I won't physically be running with you, I'm there to encourage and train... watch out though, I already purchased the Double Jogging Stroller!

We'll begin the session Tuesday, September 6 at 8:30am from Kailua Beach Park, meet in the parking lot across from Buzz's. If this new time is an issue for anyone, please let me know, I want to accommodate as many women as possible.

Runs will start from varying locations around Kailua on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30am.
Conditioning and Flexibility will be Friday mornings from 8:30 til about 9:15am. This is essentially a boot camp. We'll use our own body weight, resistance bands and hand held weights. A well-rounded strength and flexibility conditioning program aids in injury prevention. A strong body is critical to help runners through the exhausting last miles...

Throughout the summer I've been keeping my ACE fitness instructor certification current by taking several courses: Done in 30!, Fitness for Women: Bodywise Woman, and Chi Running: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running.
I will be passing my new knowledge to you through the weekly emails and also through the workouts.

After the first run, I'll email a detailed schedule for each run - where we'll meet and what we'll be running. The training schedule will be based on a 10K plan. Even if you don't foresee a 10K in your future, I feel this is a do-able running schedule for beginner, intermediate and advanced runners. And if you plan on running more than a 10K (a half or marathon), this is a great base that you can add miles onto during the 'off' days of the calendar.
Like always, take the run at your own pace - whether you're walking, jogging at intervals or running!
